Improving Your Image Through Plastic Surgery

In today's society, improving the way you look and feel about yourself has become a top priority for men and women, young and old. Your face and body project an image to others about who you are and how you feel. According to Fort Lauderdale plastic surgeon Peter J. Simon, M.D.,"Changes in our features occur as a result of normal aging, pregnancy, smoking, sun exposure, eating habits, and trauma." These alterations can give others a false impression of who you really are inside.

Plastic surgery can help restore a positive self-image, both physically and psychologically, raising self confidence and self esteem. Many people want to remove wrinkles, tighten facial structures, or normalize features that make them look old, tired, or make them feel uncomfortable. Plastic Surgery can help achieve a better balance among facial or body features.

Dr. Simon performs the latest techniques in cosmetic surgery. Face, neck, and forehead lifts smooth away wrinkles and reshape underlying tissues. Eyelids lifts remove unsightly bags and create a bright rejuvenated appearance. "Permanent" eyeliner can enhance results. Nose, chin, and ear reshaping help balance facial features. Chemical peels and dermabrasion remove fine wrinkles and blemishes. Collagen injections raise folds or depressions, and scar revisions improve widened or raised scars. Removal of unsightly moles or skin cancers enhance the overall appearance.

New procedures in body contouring are available to remove unwanted fat, drooping areas, and unsightly bulges. Liposuction can reshape necklines, waistlines, buttocks, "lovehandles," hips, thighs, calves, and even ankles. Tummy tucks can flatten the stomach and improve the waistline in both men and women. Breast lifts, reductions, enlargements and reconstruction are performed by Dr. Simon not only for the restoration of appearance, but for relief of physical and psychological symptoms as well.

"Some procedures, such as breast reduction, reconstruction, upper eyelid surgery, nasal, and abdominal surgery are often covered by insurance," states Dr. Simon. "In addition, many procedures can be combined at one operative session to greatly reduce cost."

Consulting with a REAL plastic surgeon is of utmost importance. The ONLY plastic surgery board recognized by the American Medical Association Board of Medical Specialties is the AMERICAN BOARD OF PLASTIC SURGERY.

Only those with the proper formal background, who undergo vigorous surgical training for five to eight years, and pass difficult written and oral exams, can become a Diplomate of the American Board Society of Plastic Surgery. Only these surgeons can then become members of the AMERICAN SOCIETY OF PLASTIC SURGEONS and use the "symbol of excellence" logo.

Dr. Simon is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Cosmetic consultations are free of charge.
